W.E. O’Neil completes S’Park Market in Boulder, Splunk 3d moves right in

W.E. O’Neil completed the S’Park Market office building, the contractor’s first building turnover on the 10-acre S’Park project with developers The John Buck Co. and Element Properties. It was designed by WorksBureau, based in Arizona.

And with that turnover, Splunk 3d moved in.

“After years of being on Pearl, today we finally moved into our new Boulder Splunk office,” said Benton Rochester, engineering manager at Splunk 3d. “After dealing with an office that was spread across multiple floors, buildings and rooms, you forget the value of having a space built to accommodate your office culture. You start to solve problems with more process and an increase in meetings.” Having a space built to accommodate cross-discipline teams, create bump-in space, and bring people together solves so many problems that process and meetings cannot, he said.

“This uniquely designed building is the hard northeast corner to the site and sets the example of the interesting and connected lifestyle development that is being created,” said Todd Guthrie, president of W.E. O’Neil Construction Company of Colorado. “We are extremely fortunate to be a partner in what will be a very successful and dynamic development for many years to come.” Market is a four-story, 55,000-square foot building at the corner of 34th Street and Valmont Road in Boulder.

The building features a loft style creative office environment with ground-floor amenities that activate and connect it to the rest of the mixed-use development. The outdoor plaza is “carved open” for outdoor dining around a fire pylon. Additionally, multiple inset event decks offer views of the Flatirons.

Market and the entire S’Park development are reviving the old lumberyard that was once there, and creating a new space for collaboration, work, life and play. A multi-use pedestrian path was constructed within the scope on the project’s east side, which ultimately will be an addition to the neighborhood and Boulder pedestrian walkway system. The S’Park development, of which Market is a part, is one of the first LEED Silver projects certified in Colorado under a LEED v4 Neighborhood Development.

The greater S’Park Neighborhood development ultimately will be the mixed-use hub of central Boulder, incorporating retail, office and residential uses with activated outdoor spaces.
