Delivering permanently affordable housing requires strong community partnerships, and Element Properties approached the SPARKwest project with a shared sense of urgency and collaboration to deliver 45 permanently homes. Located just minutes away from shopping, restaurants and transit in Boulder Junction, SPARKwest prioritizes accessibility, pedestrians and the integration of convenient amenities that allow residents to live, work and play in a vibrant community. SPARKwest is designed for families and is the first completion within the greater S’PARK development, an 11-acre mixed-use, mixed-income area. The SPARKwest homes are leased at 50 percent and 60 percent of Boulder’s area median income (AMI). Element helped assemble a coalition of funding partners to help make SPARKwest possible, including the City of Boulder, federal low income housing tax credits, state tax credits and proceeds from the sale of tax-exempt private activity bonds issued by the Colorado Housing and Finance Authority (CHFA).
