Gavin brings extensive experience in land-use planning, development and market analysis throughout Colorado to the Element Properties family. He previously spent 10 years working in both the public and private sectors, developing a strong understanding of the unique interplay between local policy, sound land-use planning and overall market dynamics. Most recently, Gavin led the acquisition, rehabilitation and refinancing of 2121 Canyon Boulevard, a 60-unit apartment building in Central Boulder.
Prior to joining Element, Gavin worked as a planner in the City of Louisville, where he focused on entitlement, project management and long-range planning and policy development. He also previously worked as the director of research at the Highland Group, a Boulder-based company that provides market research and strategic consulting for housing and care targeted to older Coloradans. He also served as project manager on the development of a 28-bed student housing dormitory for Naropa University.
Gavin secured a BS in marketing from the University of Colorado at Boulder and earned his master of urban and regional planning (MURP) degree from the University of Colorado at Denver. Though he has lived in Boulder on and off for 20 years, he grew up in Cleveland and is a lifelong — and tortured — fan of the Cleveland Browns.
